Pushpa: The Rise

Pushpa: The Rise a phenomenal movie released in 2021, has set the screen afire with its high-blasting action, drama, stellar performance and its energetic dialogues. The film made in the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling led by an angry, adroit and passionate labourer Pushpa Raj , portrayed by Allu Arjun has been pathbreaking in bringing back people to the theatres after the Covid-19 disruption.

Pushpa Raj, an avengeful son of an estranged mother, works in the forest of Seshachalam. Just like many other labourers, he too in the lure of quick bucks ventures into the deep jungles to cut and smuggle the precious red sandalwood , banned legally, to be exported to far away countries like Japan

etc. as gifts, momentos et al. DSP Govindappa a strict and honest policeman manages to create terror among the people involved in the trade. Pushpa, however challenges him and makes away with trucks of the contraband wood outwitting the DSP. He cleverly hides his own truck in a pond at the surprise of all, to successfully deliver it to his master Konda Reddy. Pushpa alongwith his friend Kesava purchases a car from the proceeds of the labour then.

Pushpa by his courage, adroit skills and clever tactics and successes manages to get bigger assignments from  his master Konda Reddy and climbs higher in the game very fast. In the mean time he falls for a beautiful rustic girl Srivalli and decides to marry her. However , his half brother Mohan also an influential wood smuggler comes in between and questions Pushpa’s inheritage and creates a ruckus in

the ceremony. Pushpa’s mother gets grievously injured in the fight which infuriates him. Pushpa vows to rise in the society to avenge his mother and break the pride of Mohan. During this time, he is assigned a big job of safely protecting a large consignment, 200 tons of the ‘red-sandalwood’ of Mangalam Srinu for further transport to Chennai. Despite a police raid, Pushpa cleverly drops the wood blocks into the flowing river and and captures the same with his aides. To quickly earn more, he decides to trade the wood directly to traders to Chennai at a higher price, ₹1 crore/ton and shares the profit with his partner Konda. When Konda’s brother tries to dishonour Srivalli, Pushpa smashes him up to disability. Konda discovers about this and tries to kill Pushpa. But Srinu’s men come to Pushpa’s rescue. Pushpa however manages to kill Konda in the fight. Pushpa captures and kills Srinu’s brother-in-law Mogileesu.

With the mediation of MP Bhumireddy Naidu, Pushpa and Srinu declare truce and Pushpa becomes the head of the syndicate. While Pushpa flourishes in his trade, a new SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat gets appointed in the district. Pushpa tries to bribe him which the SP rejects. In the ensuing tussle with the officer, Pushpa secretly meets the SP on his wedding day and drinks with him passionately. Stung by Pushpa’s arrogant and rebellious attitude the biligerent SP returns home angry and kills his own pet dog. Pushpa too fired by the insult to his clout vows to take forward his business more rigorously culminating the first edition of the movie.
